The Master's Program in Cognitive Development, with a specialization in Dynamic Assessment of Learning Proficiency, seeks to train professionals who can contribute to expanding knowledge and improving practices in the field of education from a cognitive perspective and its link with inclusive education.

In this context, the following specific objectives are proposed:

• To develop professionals who contribute to the design, implementation and communication of research in the field of cognitive development and inclusive education, from a dynamic perspective of the propensity to learning.

• To contribute to the country's education through the specialized training of professionals in the educational field with dynamic approaches that allow for cognitive changes that promote learning in different contexts.

• To empower professionals who can respond to local, national and international problems related to the development of thinking skills, from an inclusive and intercultural perspective.

Applicant Profile

The Program expects to have students from different disciplines, who have orientations towards improvement in the professional field or orientations towards improvement in the academic field, but who share knowledge in education and interest in deepening the study in cognitive and learning development; reflective capacities to critically analyze teaching practices and the educational context at its micro and macro levels; and capacity and motivation to develop research skills in education.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Master's Program in Cognitive Development at UDP will possess the knowledge to contribute to the discussion and reflection on the approaches and paradigms that inform the teaching and learning process. They will have the conceptual, methodological, and practical tools to guide, design, implement, and evaluate psychoeducational interventions, as well as to contribute to the generation and dissemination of knowledge in the field of cognitive education and its connection to inclusive education. Graduates of this program are distinguished by:

a) To understand cognitive development and learning as a dynamic and active process in the construction of knowledge, a product of meaningful learning experiences in which a series of intellectual, attitudinal, motivational and emotional tools converge, with a special emphasis on self-regulation processes for better adaptation to the demands of the environment.

b) Conduct dynamic assessments of learning propensity and design, implement and evaluate plans and strategies to promote cognitive development in children, youth and adults, in different contexts

c) Promote inclusive practices in teaching and learning processes at different educational levels, with emphasis on the development of thinking and considering the actors involved in these processes.

d) Possess the reflective capacities and research skills that contribute to expanding the available knowledge in the area of cognitive development and/or continuously improving one's own practice.
