The objective is to train professionals specializing in Criminal Law, capable of reporting on the current state of dogmatic and jurisprudential discussion in the fundamental aspects of Criminal and Criminal Procedural Law; of understanding the scientific foundations and practical applications of Criminology, Legal Medicine and Criminalistics; and, depending on the modality of their graduation, to participate in the national scientific discussion, through the publication of their research in an indexed scientific journal.

Applicant Profile

The Master's Program in Criminal Law offers academic and professional training that addresses the needs of forensic practice in criminal matters, aimed at law graduates and those engaged in the practical application of criminal law. Furthermore, it will provide an opportunity to train researchers capable of contributing to the national debate on these issues.

Graduate profile

The graduate of the Master's Degree in Criminal Law from the University of Talca will be able to: 1. Give an account of the current state of the scientific discussion on the fundamental aspects of Criminal Law;
2. To make oral presentations for the hearings of the criminal process;
3. To file appeals for annulment against final judgments, which may be admitted by the Supreme Court or a Court of Appeals; 4. According to its grading modality:
a) Pass the selection tests on knowledge required to enter the
institutions linked to the professional practice in criminal matters;
b) Publish scientific articles in indexed journals.
