The program aims to train highly qualified specialists with a strong interdisciplinary background, capable of assuming senior legal advisory and management roles. The faculty comprises professors from the Faculty of Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, visiting professors from Chilean and international universities, and specialist lawyers.

• The Master's Program in Law is aimed at lawyers who require specialized tools to better face the practice of the profession, whether in the public or private sector, with respect to the specific areas in which the mentions that the Master's program has are developed (Private Law, Family Law, Civil Law, Public Law, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Labor Law).

Graduate profile

Graduates of the PUCV Master of Laws program are professionals equipped to address the diverse challenges of practicing law and possess the necessary tools for effective and successful practice. Therefore, graduates have advanced and specialized legal knowledge focused on the interpretation and critical examination of legal sources and instruments, as well as the development of advanced strategies for analyzing, preventing, and resolving complex legal issues.

This profile includes the following advanced skills:
a) Knows, understands and critically analyzes advanced and up-to-date content in Law, with particular attention to its mention.
b) Interprets, diagnoses and critically analyzes complex legal problems.
c) Prevents and resolves complex legal problems through instruments and strategies that incorporate or apply specialized knowledge.
d) Designs strategies, solution tools and critical analysis in order to solve problems and that are characterized by their methodological rigor and exhaustiveness.

The program has a solid foundation in legal theory. In this way, it provides professionals with tools that allow them to address the current challenges of practicing law in its various forms.

A. Profile of the mention in civil law: Mention oriented towards deepening knowledge and developing specialized skills in matters related to the field of civil obligations, such as contract law, civil liability and matrimonial law in order to enable performance in professional practice both as an advisor and/or as a litigator.
B. Profile of the mention in administrative law: Mention oriented towards deepening knowledge and developing specialized skills in the field of administrative activity, administrative procedure, administrative control, territorial planning, environment and responsibility of the State Administration.
C. Profile of the mention in public law: Mention oriented towards deepening knowledge and developing specialized and transversal skills in public law, and particularly in the field of the organization of political and administrative institutions, the regime of fundamental rights and public legal control and responsibility.
D. Profile of the mention in private law: Mention aimed at deepening knowledge and developing specialized and transversal skills in private law, both civil and commercial law, in order to enable professional practice in any of these areas as an advisor and/or as a litigator.
