goals
Its overall objective is to train researchers, academics, and professionals who develop: research skills; up-to-date knowledge in theology and philosophy; and appropriate ethical and value-based attitudes. The Master's program aims to provide students with a theoretical and practical synthesis in the areas of theology and philosophy, with a coherent specialization in one of the research lines established by the Faculty of Religious and Philosophical Sciences at UCM, which are developed in its Departments of Theology and Philosophy. The program also seeks to equip students with specific knowledge in theology and philosophy, as well as with the theoretical and methodological tools to conduct research through their specialization thesis.
Applicant Profile
Academics and researchers who develop: research skills; up-to-date knowledge in theology and philosophy; and appropriate ethical and value-based attitudes.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master's Program in Religious and Philosophical Sciences, specializing in Theology or Philosophy, will be capable of conducting research through a philosophical-theological synthesis (whether theoretical or practical). Furthermore, they will develop rigorous and independent academic processes, articulated around questions of human existence in relation to God, the World, History, and the Person, focusing on topics of their particular interest or relevant to their professional field. It is expected that graduates will conduct research that contributes to the development of scientific and applied knowledge in the philosophical and theological fields, thus contributing to the search for solutions consistent with their values and actions, as well as to the communication of ideas in their native language or in English, offering solutions to various problems within their specialization. It is also expected that graduates will be able to develop high-quality collaborative research, contributing new criteria for understanding reality and the human person, identifying needs and new challenges that will allow them to engage in ongoing professional development.
