goals
The program aims to train highly skilled professionals who can use the scientific method to integrate and apply theoretical knowledge, analytical tools, and scientific research methodologies to problem-solving, process improvement, and management related to the handling, exploitation, and/or conservation of terrestrial and aquatic natural resources. It also provides the necessary competencies, skills, tools, and conceptual foundations for pursuing doctoral studies.
Applicant Profile
Professionals interested in specializing for management, executive, and advisory positions related to environmental and natural resource management, both terrestrial and aquatic, in public or private institutions; joining research teams; and/or pursuing doctoral studies in this same field. Applicants must have a basic background in Natural Sciences (Agronomy, Biology, Marine Biology, Ecology, Aquaculture, Forestry, and Fisheries) and have completed a thesis, seminar, or research dissertation.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this Master's Program will be characterized by:
_Design and implement systematic procedures focused on the production, collection, interpretation and communication of scientific and statistical information for decision-making and for the improvement of environmental management processes, at the public or private level.
_To contribute to linking the public and private sectors with academia for the identification and satisfaction of the demand for scientific and statistical information required by decision-making processes and the improvement of environmental management processes in these institutions.
_Apply adaptive and precautionary approaches to the design of regulatory actions and measures in the public and private sectors.
_To contribute to the multidisciplinary evaluation of public or private strategies, programs, projects and actions, identifying, predicting, monitoring or evaluating their consequences on the ecosystem, at different temporal and spatial scales and levels of organization.
