goals
The objective of this program is to train human resources with a theoretical, experimental, and methodological foundation to visualize, analyze, and solve problems in the field of animal production. In this way, it provides students with the ability to plan and develop professional activities in management and leadership roles within the private production sector or in organizations linked to innovation.
Applicant Profile
This is a full-time program. Admission to this Master's Program requires a professional degree in Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, or a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, or a related biological field, with a level and content equivalent to that required for a Bachelor's degree. Candidates must apply through the Graduate School, submitting an application form that follows the "MANUAL OF RULES AND PROCEDURES FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF MASTER'S PROGRAMS AT THE AUSTRAL UNIVERSITY OF CHILE" and attaching the required documents. International students must have their academic transcript and degree certificate legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before beginning the program. Applications are reviewed by the Program Committee, which accepts or rejects candidates based on their merit (previous studies, grade point average, professional or academic interests). Accepted candidates may begin the program in March or August. In addition, a link with undergraduate training has been established, through which a number of outstanding students from both the agronomy career and other careers at UACh, can apply to this (and other) master's program, once they obtain their bachelor's degree (see Undergraduate-Postgraduate Linkage Regulations).
Graduate profile
The graduate of the Master of Science in Animal Production possesses:
a) A solid conceptual background in the area of animal production and feeding.
b) Ability to intervene in and optimize animal production systems, at both the primary and secondary production levels. Possesses a holistic view of the objectives and functioning of these systems.
c) Ability to propose and direct research and development projects in areas of their competence.
d) Ability to communicate the knowledge generated in research related to animal production.
