General Objectives:
1. To develop in graduates a solid foundation in the fundamental areas of Physics.
2. To develop in graduates a specialized training in one of the lines of research: Complex Systems, High Energy Physics and Metamaterials.
3. To promote the development of Physical Sciences in the Northern Macro Zone of the country.
Specific objectives:
1. To train graduates with a high level of knowledge that enables them to carry out teaching, research and dissemination in their specialty.
2. Strengthen the lines of research defined in the program, with the participation of graduates in the generation, development of projects and scientific publications.
3. To provide continuity to the scientific training of students of Bachelor's degrees in Physics and/or related careers at the University of La Serena.

Applicant Profile

Those who hold a university degree in science or engineering and demonstrate a background in physics equivalent to that of a graduate in this discipline may apply to the Master of Science in Physics program. The program's Academic Committee may establish leveling activities and deadlines for completion for certain candidates as a prerequisite for admission to the program.

Graduate profile

The graduate with a Master of Science in Physics degree will be able to:
1. Demonstrate a solid background in the fundamental areas of Physics and in your area of specialization.
2. Integrate research teams in universities, institutes or research centers, both in the public and private sectors.
3. Analyze, synthesize and project the training acquired in the field of your area of specialization.
4. Participate in the generation, development of projects and scientific publications.
5. Conduct teaching, seminars and dissemination in the area of their specialization.
