Applicant Profile
Demonstrate possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a professional university degree in disciplines related to the program, of equivalent level, content and duration to those necessary to obtain the Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master of Science in Civil Engineering program at the Federico Santa María Technical University possess cutting-edge scientific knowledge in their area of specialization and are capable of developing and/or applying innovative solutions to relevant problems, contributing to the advancement of the state of the art and/or practice of the discipline. Upon completion of the program, students will have transversal and specialized competencies that will allow them to:
TRANSVERSAL GENERIC COMPETENCIES
1. Conduct research activities in one or more of the disciplines of Civil Engineering, in order to achieve high standards of quality.
2. Act with professional, social and ethical responsibility in the exercise of research and/or technological development activities, recognizing the benefit to society.
3. Communicate your ideas and knowledge clearly and effectively in a professional and/or scientific context, to promote advancement in the state of the art and/or practice of Civil Engineering.
SPECIFIC DISCIPLINARY COMPETENCIES
1. Synthesize the physical and mathematical principles, the state of the art and practice in Civil Engineering, to apply knowledge in your area of specialization from a global perspective.
2. Analyze complex problems in one or more of the Civil Engineering disciplines, in order to propose appropriate scientific and technological solutions.
3. Develop advanced knowledge and/or tools in one or more of the disciplines of Civil Engineering sciences, for the analysis and/or resolution of complex problems.
4. Interpret experimental and/or theoretical results in the area of specialization of Civil Engineering, to solve problems rigorously and objectively.
5. Select novel and/or relevant methodologies and technologies in a professional and/or scientific context, for solving problems in your area of specialization.
