The Master of Science in Engineering program has the following fundamental objective:
To train advanced human capital, capable of developing fundamental and applied research in transversal areas of Engineering, linked to the development lines of the program, in order to address and solve complex problems of a global nature, with an integrative approach of different Engineering disciplines.
Applicant Profile
Admission requirement:
1. Students of the Master of Science in Engineering Program at the University of La Frontera must hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree or a professional title whose level and duration of studies are equivalent to those necessary to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree or a related area.
2. In addition, qualified professionals must have demonstrable professional experience or affiliation in one of the program's development areas.
3. For undergraduate students (with a Bachelor's degree) it is required to demonstrate a connection or prior experience in the topics of the program (subjects taken in undergraduate studies or professional practice activities).

In general terms, graduates of this program will have:
The graduate of the Master of Science in Engineering program at the University of La Frontera is a postgraduate with the ability to perform basic or applied research in Energy and Water Resources, Mechatronics and Intelligent Systems or Materials and Structures, and in the dissemination of knowledge in the area.
They possess training in research methodologies and up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge of Engineering. Their training enables them to solve complex problems with current Engineering tools, contributing to development in their professional environment; participate in research activities using the scientific method to contribute solutions to problems in the field; substantiate research results in the field for the transfer of new engineering knowledge; and prepare scientific articles based on research results for dissemination to the scientific and technological community.
They possess the ability to coordinate and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating critical thinking and ethical conduct. They will be qualified to work in public and private companies, research centers, and higher education institutions.
