The objective of the Master's Program in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of
Chile aims to train graduates who participate in research in the areas of science
Speech therapy encompasses the process of oral human communication, hearing, and its
difficulties. The above is so that they may contribute to the communicative well-being of the
community and the development of the discipline.

Applicant Profile

To hold a bachelor's degree or have a professional title related to the discipline of study (speech therapists; teachers, psychologists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, linguists, otolaryngologists)

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology will possess knowledge of the central and current theories and concepts of Speech-Language Pathology, as well as current knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, depending on the lines of research selected by each of the students.
Furthermore, they will possess the necessary skills to participate in original and relevant research related to areas of speech-language pathology, such as the process of oral human communication, hearing, and its difficulties. All of this is aimed at contributing to the development of the discipline and improving the communicative well-being of the community.

Lines of investigation

1.- Reading performance in children with specific language impairment.
2.- Comprehension in children with specific language impairment.
3. Genetic bases of language and writing.
4.- Phonetic adaptation to vestibular orthodontic appliances.
5. Language and reading stimulation program.
6.- Hearing disorders in different populations such as older adults and workers exposed to noise and chemicals.
7.- Central auditory system and psychoacoustics.
8.- Association between visual attention and language during development.
