The Master's program in Computer Science has as its main objective to train human capital specialized in Computer Science, being capable of addressing complex problems in the areas of Data Science, Pattern Recognition and High Performance Computing.
Applicant Profile
Applicants to the program are expected to hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (or a related field), or a professional degree accompanied by extensive professional experience in the field of Computer Science. Applicants are also expected to have demonstrable training in Basic Sciences and be available to dedicate at least half a day to the program. The applicant's expected grade point average in their undergraduate studies must be 5.0 or higher.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master of Science in Computer Science program at the Catholic University of Maule are equipped to address problems in the field of computer science through data science, pattern recognition, and high-performance computing. They will develop the design of pattern recognition systems and the extraction, analysis, and interpretation of massive datasets, preparing them to conduct theoretical and applied scientific research, collaborate in multidisciplinary research teams, and disseminate results at national and international conferences and in journals. Graduates are expected to conduct their work in the field of computer science ethically, in accordance with the values of the Catholic University of Maule, such as the proper handling and use of data, confidentiality, and information security, taking into account the local, regional, and national context, as well as regulations on data management and its use in computer science research.
