goals
The Master of Science Program in Mathematics aims to contribute to the development of mathematics in the Andean Macro-Region and in Chile, promoting and strengthening scientific research in mathematics. The program seeks to train graduates in mathematics with theoretical and methodological skills that will enable them to lead research in a sustainable manner in diverse and innovative mathematical areas, such as fuzzy and interval mathematical analysis, optimization, partial differential equations, and the geometry of control systems. This solid foundation will allow them to envision themselves as professionals with a wide range of career possibilities, such as conducting high-level research and creating new knowledge, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses creatively and with a commitment to the pursuit of knowledge, and designing and executing outstanding research projects in the discipline or related fields.
Applicant Profile
Hold a bachelor's degree or professional title in mathematics, or a related degree or title (Mathematics Education, Mathematical Engineer). The degree or title must correspond to a program of study of at least eight (8) semesters in duration.
Candidates from other disciplines will also be eligible as long as their research project is developed in the field of mathematics and their professional and/or academic background is positively evaluated by the Program's Academic Committee.
