General Objective The Master in Biomedical Sciences has the General Objective of strengthening the capabilities of the program's students to develop scientific activities related to Biomedical Sciences, with specialization in Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Biochemistry, Immunohematology, and Oral Pathology.
Specific Objectives: Specialization in Clinical Biochemistry and Immunohematology
-To have complete and up-to-date information on essential aspects of Biomedical Sciences, enabling them to understand, project and disseminate the modern foundations that guide knowledge in the area of Clinical Biochemistry and Immunohematology.
– Develop analytical capacity regarding research papers published in mainstream journals, which will allow them a new approach based on cognitive constructivism, the active search for meaningful learning, based on the recovery of knowledge and experience.
-Design innovative experimental strategies in the field of Biomedical Sciences, which allow for increased research for the benefit of health care and the quality of life of people.
-Demonstrate creativity and the ability to reflect analytically, so as to be able to undertake with originality and openness the transformations and innovations required in the field of their profession.
Specific Objectives for Clinical Microbiology Specialization
-To have complete and up-to-date information on essential aspects of Biomedical Sciences, enabling them to understand, project and disseminate the modern foundations that guide knowledge in the area of Clinical Microbiology.

Specific Objectives Mention Oral Pathology
-To train graduates in the health field in the field of Oral Pathology, with skills that allow them to conduct research, as well as clinical and histopathological diagnosis and management of diseases that affect the oral cavity and maxillofacial territory
– To manage information on essential aspects of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biostatistics and Immunology, which will allow you to adequately interpret the pathological phenomena associated with the oral cavity.
-Have training in clinical and histopathological diagnosis and the study of lesions in the area of Oral Pathology
-To have the necessary tools for the identification of problems to be investigated in the field of Oral Pathology.
-Have training in research methods in Oral Pathology.
Applicant Profile
Regarding each mention, the Program is aimed at:
a) Mention in Clinical Biochemistry and Immunohematology: aimed at medical technologists,
Physicians, biochemists, pharmaceutical chemists, veterinarians, and other professionals whose background demonstrates adequate training that suggests success in the program, reflected in their undergraduate grades, participation in academic and/or scientific activities, and their motivation and availability to pursue a postgraduate program. Applicants must also demonstrate proficiency in English at a level suitable for reading experimental scientific articles related to the area of Clinical Biochemistry and Immunohematology. b) Clinical Microbiology Specialization: aimed at professionals who demonstrate, through their curriculum, adequate microbiological training, such as medical technologists, physicians, biochemists, pharmaceutical chemists, veterinarians, dentists, and biologists or other related fields. Applicants must demonstrate adequate training that suggests success in the program, reflected in their undergraduate grades, participation in academic and/or scientific activities, and their motivation and availability to pursue a postgraduate program. Applicants must also demonstrate a command of the English language at a level suitable for reading experimental scientific articles associated with the area of Clinical Microbiology.
c) Specialization in Oral Pathology: aimed at dentists and medical surgeons interested in beginning the scientific study of oral pathologies. Applicants must demonstrate in their background an adequate level of training that suggests success in the program, reflected in their undergraduate grades, participation in academic and/or scientific activities, and their motivation and availability to pursue a postgraduate program. Applicants must also demonstrate proficiency in English at a level suitable for reading experimental scientific articles related to the field of Oral Pathology.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program will have the following general competencies:
-Ability to analyze the health situation in the reality of their performance, manage and analyze data, perform statistical and inferential analyses, present reports, and prepare reports
-Ability to research and conduct scientific studies that support the health decision-making process, in partnership with research centers and academic institutions
-Participate in the training of undergraduate and postgraduate students and in the training of other members of the health team, contributing to the improvement of the quality of professional care.
-Apply ethical principles and values that allow you to intervene in the solution of health problems with a humanitarian sense and a vocation for service.
Graduates of the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences will have the following competencies according to their specialization:
Specialization in Clinical Biochemistry and Immunohematology
-Analyze, design and solve scientific projects in their field of knowledge with emphasis on Clinical Chemistry, Endocrinological Metabolism, Onco Hematology, Hemostasis or Transfusion Immunohematology.
-Advise on matters concerning development and research programs in their specialty and, with their participation, consolidate work teams with the capacity to guide strategies that favor the viability of projects.
-Promote teamwork for the planning, execution, programming and evaluation of research activities in their specialty.
Specialization in Clinical Microbiology
-Analyze, design and solve scientific projects in their field of knowledge with emphasis on Clinical Microbiology, Mycology, Control of Infectious Microorganisms, Parasitology or Oral Microbiology.
-Advise on matters concerning development and research programs in their specialty and, with their participation, consolidate work teams with the capacity to guide strategies that favor the viability of projects.
– Participate in the development of standards in surveillance, prevention and control programs for communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Specialization in Oral Pathology
-Design, execute and evaluate scientific and technological projects in the field of Oral Pathology, with emphasis on the most frequent pathologies.
-Educating in preventive behaviors from both the point of view of early diagnosis and the elimination of habits associated with oral pathologies.
-Promote teamwork for the planning, execution and evaluation of research activities in their specialty.
