The Master's Program in Biological Sciences aims to provide students with specialized, yet interdisciplinary and comprehensive, advanced training in the study of Biological Sciences. Upon completion of the program, graduates will understand the complexities of research through the use of statistical tools, the importance of applying bioethical principles, the formulation of coherent and well-founded research projects, and the skills necessary to write and publish scientific articles. Simultaneously, graduates will be able to apply this knowledge to management and administrative activities within their discipline and to seek solutions to specific problems. Furthermore, they will develop the skills to work as teachers and/or practice their profession in an applied manner, with a solid foundation in the disciplines that comprise the field.

This program will be aimed at professionals linked to the biological sciences such as: Natural Resources Engineers, Agricultural Engineers, Forestry Engineers, Doctors, Nurses, Midwives, Speech Therapists, Nutritionists, Veterinarians, Geologists, Biologists, Science Educators, and all related careers that meet the minimum entry profile proposed by the University of Bío-Bío.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Master's Program in Biological Sciences will be professionals trained to conduct basic and/or applied research in the field of Biological Sciences within the program's research areas. They will be able to work independently on research projects and integrate into multidisciplinary academic teams. They will be capable of applying sound bioethical principles to scientific research, recognizing its importance for proper management, participating effectively in research activities and professional practice according to the country's needs, and communicating their research results effectively at scientific meetings or through publications.
