Graduate profile
To understand the theory and practical aspects of specific glaciological topics, including: the physics and chemistry of land and sea ice, radio-echo sounding techniques for estimating ice thickness, and the processing and interpretation of data from other satellite or local remote sensors for the study of glacial variations. In addition, to process meteorological and climatological data for the study of atmosphere-cryosphere interaction. To pursue doctoral studies in topics related to glaciology or Antarctic sciences and in activities related to glaciological studies or the Antarctic and Subantarctic systems.
Lines of investigation
Antarctic and Subantarctic Science: A research area encompassing the study of biodiversity in terrestrial and marine ecosystems, and Earth sciences in the Magallanes Subantarctic ecoregion and the Antarctic continent. It incorporates management and conservation studies of endemic species, vulnerability to global changes, and their effects on our pristine region. Over 400 publications have been produced.
It has 2 study centers and 5 highly trained laboratories
