To create spaces for reflection on the problems and social changes that the use of information entails.
To offer professionals from various fields of knowledge the theoretical and practical knowledge that will allow them to strengthen the management of scientific and technological information.
Configure learning environments to consolidate project management and the development of scientific research in Information Science (Library Science, Archival Science, Documentation, Information Metrics Studies, among others).
Applicant Profile
Hold a Professional Title and/or Bachelor's Degree of no less than 8 semesters in duration and related to the Program.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master's Program in Library and Information Science will be able to address the social changes inherent in new forms of information and representation mediated by the exponential advancement of technologies in their most varied expressions. They will be aware of the growing complexity and demand for this type of knowledge and will approach the management of data, information, and knowledge from an interdisciplinary perspective, based on the following research areas: "Libraries, Education, and Citizenship," "Information, Science, and Technology," and "Archives, Memory, and Society." From these perspectives, they will explore the social, cultural, and political aspects of information, with a solid theoretical and methodological foundation that will allow them to contribute to society through project management and the development of scientific research in Information Science.
