goals
General objective: The program's main objective is to strengthen the basic training of graduates in Physics, Astronomy or related sciences in areas of specialization in Astrophysics, in order to promote cutting-edge scientific research at the national and international levels.
Specific objectives: To create high-level researchers with extensive knowledge in astrophysics, trained by an excellent academic body characterized by high rates of scientific productivity and strategic alliances with national and international institutions.
The specific objectives focus on training researchers capable of interacting with other researchers in related areas, working in astronomical observatories (especially in Northern Chile), and developing teaching activities in primary, secondary and/or university education.
Applicant Profile
Those who hold a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent professional title, of at least 4 years or 8 semesters in duration, whose level and content of studies correspond to those necessary to obtain the required degree, may enter Master's programs, a condition that will be determined by the Director or the Academic Committee of the respective program.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master's program in Astrophysics are characterized by having advanced knowledge in one or more areas of Astrophysics developed at IFA, in addition to having theoretical and practical training with emphasis on the application of research methodologies, which implies having developed the ability to propose, formulate, evaluate and execute projects, as well as an effective ability to disseminate and publicize the results obtained.
