goals

The overall objective of the Program, as established in the Curriculum (Annex No. 2d), focuses on training graduates who are able to reinterpret, from Latin American perspectives and categories, the thought, art and culture of different societies through interdisciplinary work.
Its specific objectives are:
a) Generate instances of dialogue that promote a critical and situated perspective of the different objects of analysis of the Program, and that integrate theory with interdisciplinary practice.
b) Formulate research projects that integrate the different cultural contexts, not only Latin American ones; characterized by the categories of analysis specific to the region and that promote the dissemination of knowledge.
c) Promote the production of knowledge in the program area, through academic texts and their presentation in various instances.

Applicant Profile

a. Ability to establish creative and imaginative relationships between different artistic and cultural manifestations.
b. Ability to combine reflective analysis and theoretical knowledge with attention to the formal and sensory characteristics of the objects of study.
c. Interest in studying those cultural objects and reflective problems that are usually left aside due to disciplinary limitations.
d. Interest in linking academic learning with the practices and reflections of artistic and cultural circuits, as well as social and political movements.
e. Willingness to consider the specific characteristics of Chilean and Latin American thought and culture in relation to other cultural contexts.
f. Willingness to link the knowledge of one's original discipline with that of other disciplines, in order to develop one's own perspectives and methodologies.
g. Applicants must hold a university degree or professional title in the arts, philosophy, or culture. They must also have a basic command of English and passive knowledge of another foreign language. A language proficiency certificate is required.

Graduate profile

a) To theorize and investigate, from a critical and situated perspective, the objects of study of the Program, under a Latin American view, promoting dialogue and dissemination activities.
b) Formulate and develop interdisciplinary research projects in art, thought and culture from different regions of the world, using the analytical categories specific to Latin America.
c) To produce academic texts, linked to the areas of the Program, that promote the dissemination of knowledge from a critical and Latin American perspective.
d) Participate in different instances of interdisciplinary work that promote the reinterpretation of the different objects related to art, thought and culture, linking it to society, both to academic, artistic and cultural circuits, as well as to social and political movements.
