goals

The objective of the program is to train graduates capable of facing advanced research activities in the field of Anthropology in an original and creative way, with theoretical and methodological skills that allow their participation in the design and execution of original and critical research on anthropological problems, encouraging the generation of knowledge and fostering academic debate on northern Chile, the Andean subregion and the country.

Applicant Profile

Anyone holding a professional degree in Anthropology and/or a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology or another specialty in the social sciences or humanities, obtained from a Chilean or foreign university and whose study program is no less than 8 semesters, may apply to the program.
Candidates holding a professional title or academic degree not directly related to Anthropology or the social sciences and humanities will also be eligible. Their professional and/or academic background will be evaluated by the Program's Academic Committee, which will determine the applicant's suitability and reserves the right to require them to complete leveling courses.

Graduate profile

The graduate of the program will be able to creatively address the problems of anthropology, in the fields of social anthropology and archaeology; will have a holistic and up-to-date vision of anthropological knowledge; will be prepared to develop and carry out multidisciplinary scientific projects; and will possess the knowledge and skills to work in the field of research, teaching and/or professional performance in social action and planning activities, from an up-to-date theoretical, technical and methodological perspective.
