goals
To train postgraduate students with a solid theoretical and technological foundation and innovative skills in the area of agricultural production, capable of leading the development of sustainable agriculture with an emphasis on stressful environments.
Applicant Profile
Those eligible to apply to the program must possess at least the following: A) A Bachelor's degree, or a professional qualification of at least eight semesters in duration, with a level and content of study equivalent to that required to obtain a Bachelor's degree. B) Graduates in agronomy, biology, biotechnology, veterinary medicine, forestry, and related fields are eligible to apply. Professionals in the areas of engineering, science, health, and economics are also eligible.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master's Program in Sustainable Agriculture under Stressful Conditions at Arturo Prat University are professionals with a solid foundation in the areas of agricultural physiology and production, and plant health under stressful conditions. They are prepared to apply scientific methodologies to solve problems associated with agricultural production under stressful conditions, and to apply and utilize new tools, technologies, and genetic resources aimed at improving agricultural production in adverse environments in a sustainable and socially responsible manner. Furthermore, graduates will be qualified to develop and implement agricultural innovation projects in stressful environments. They will also be able to participate in decision-making processes in public and/or private companies, in the development of intensive agricultural production programs and actions under stressful conditions in the northern macro-region of the country. The specific competencies of the graduate are: a) Applying scientific methodologies to solve problems associated with agricultural production under stressful conditions. b) Propose and develop agricultural innovation projects for the development of intensive agricultural production programs and actions under stressful conditions. c) Apply new tools, technologies, and genetic resources aimed at improving agricultural production in adverse environments in a sustainable and socially responsible manner. d) Participate in decision-making in public and/or private companies.
