goals
To train graduates capable of contributing to the resolution of complex and real-world problems faced by companies and institutions in the northern macro-region of Chile, with the potential to apply their proposed solutions to other companies both within the country and abroad, thereby seizing development opportunities in private and public institutions by applying engineering based on product, service, and process innovation. Furthermore, the program will catalyze and foster cooperation among academia, industry, and society in areas of impact and development for the northern macro-region, such as mining, energy, natural resources, and desert habitability.
Applicant Profile
This program is designed for professionals with an engineering degree and/or a bachelor's degree in engineering-related disciplines who wish to specialize in theoretical and practical approaches focused on technological solutions to problems with a high degree of innovation. Admission from other professions and/or degrees may be evaluated by the Program Committee.
Graduate profile
A professional capable of linking scientific research with engineering practice through the development of R&D&I projects that add value to both private and public organizations. Their solid theoretical and practical background allows them to contribute to solving problems in areas of impact and development in the northern macro-region, such as mining, energy, natural resources, and desert habitability, through a research process and the application of engineering for the development and innovation of processes, products, and/or services. They focus on technological solutions and their transfer, enabling early participation in key technologies for industrial development. This professional works collaboratively, with critical thinking and a self-learning attitude, within multidisciplinary teams.
