General objective
The Master's program in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure seeks to train specialists capable of performing with excellence in the context of a criminal process, specializing professionals in the area of legal sciences in such a way that they develop the skills that enable them to intervene in criminal processes efficiently and effectively, whatever role they are to play.

Specific objectives
– To train graduates who can delve into, critique, and apply the main topics of the general part of criminal law and its impact on the special part of the same.
– To train graduates who can delve into, critique, and apply the procedural institutions present in criminal proceedings.
– To train graduates who can develop a critical analysis of relevant jurisprudence on criminal procedural issues.
– To train graduates with the skills to effectively handle a criminal process.

Applicant Profile

In general, applicants to the program must demonstrate interest and willingness to specialize in substantive or procedural criminal law and must hold a degree in legal and social sciences from a Chilean or foreign university. Prior experience in the field is not required.

Graduate profile

In particular, graduates of the Master's Program in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure should be able to:
– To integrate and apply the fundamental concepts of criminal law and criminal procedural law to the solution of practical problems.
– To analyze the new approaches presented by current criminal and criminal procedural law.
– To critically analyze the fundamental problems presented by criminal law and criminal procedural law.
– To design and develop appropriate litigation strategies in defense of the interests of those involved in the criminal process.
– Apply oral and written expression skills in criminal procedure matters.
