General objective
To deepen the applicants' knowledge of the fundamentals and applications of civil engineering sciences and related fields, so that they achieve a high level of specialization, enabling them to develop research autonomously and provide solutions to complex and relevant problems in the area within the national and international community.
Specific objectives
– To develop science and technology of the highest level in Engineering Sciences, especially Civil Engineering and related areas.
– To promote the continuous improvement and advancement of program participants through participation in activities related to the field of research.

To achieve the aforementioned objectives, the program develops in the graduate both solid criteria and theoretical knowledge, as well as an ability to develop research, which allows them to generate greater analytical capacity, creativity and confidence in solving complex problems in Civil Engineering, in the lines of research indicated in the following section.
