goals
General objective
Its objective is to train graduates with the skills to conduct basic or applied research in one of the program's development lines, through a deepening of theoretical and applied knowledge in computer science.
Specific objectives
– To provide the student with fundamental knowledge in computer theory, algorithms and data structures, from a critical and reflective perspective of Computer Science.
– To provide the student with advanced knowledge in at least one of the Program's research areas, fostering reflective and analytical thinking.
– To develop in the student the ability to apply the knowledge and methods of Computer Science to complex problems.
– To foster in the student self-learning skills, critical thinking, professional ethics, and the ability to organize and communicate relevant information in their area of specialization.
Applicant Profile
The Master's program in Computer Science seeks to select students with an entry profile that allows them to integrate into basic or applied research teams in computer science. Candidates must demonstrate interest in one of the program's research areas, possess a professional or academic background consistent with their interest in pursuing postgraduate studies, and express a commitment to their Master's studies.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the program will possess the skills to solve complex problems through the understanding and application of modern computer science methods and technologies, enabling them to participate in research and development projects. Their training is based on fundamental knowledge of computer theory, algorithms, and data structures, as well as in-depth study in one of the program's three research areas: Information Systems, Theory and Methods of Computation, and Intelligent Systems.
Lines of investigation
– Information Systems Line: covers topics related to the acquisition, processing, storage, management and distribution of information so that it can be read by computers, humans or both.
– Line of Computing Theory and Methods: studies what can be computed, how many resources are required to run such computations efficiently, and how to compute efficiently.
– Intelligent Systems Line: studies the fundamentals, design and development of systems that use Artificial Intelligence models and techniques to solve complex computer problems and applications in various areas.
