goals
The Master's Program in Health Administration at UC trains leaders in the management of healthcare institutions, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery and resource management. It aims to develop leading professionals in the healthcare field who demonstrate conceptual rigor in both health and administrative areas, enabling them to work in both public and private organizations. The program adds value to healthcare organizations by providing professionals with a broad understanding of health management and the design of sectoral policies, taking into account their specific characteristics within the local healthcare model. It fosters critical thinking skills, enabling graduates to propose innovative solutions to relevant administrative challenges in the healthcare sector. This is achieved through a set of competencies that enhance their leadership and willingness to assume positions of responsibility in healthcare organizations. Finally, the program trains professionals who incorporate an ethical perspective, consistent with the values-based education of the Catholic University, into their decision-making processes within healthcare organizations.
Applicant Profile
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree from a Chilean or foreign university, or an equivalent professional university qualification. At least two years of work experience is required. Advanced reading comprehension in English is necessary. A personal interview is required. For international students, the Bachelor's degree or professional qualification, along with the academic transcript, must be legalized by the Chilean consulate in their country of origin.
Graduate profile
The graduate profile has two areas of performance, for which a set of competencies has been defined. Administration Area: 1. Manage human and material resources efficiently, with a strong ethical foundation, in various healthcare organizations. Competencies to be developed in this area of performance: a) Manage human and material resources using business tools, strategic analysis, policy and program design, finance, health economics, people management, operations management, and management control, from an ethical perspective, in healthcare organizations. b) Solve problems by adopting a global, integrative, and ethical perspective, through reasoning and analysis of available information, to identify causes or potential improvements to implement in healthcare organizations. Leadership Area: 2. Demonstrate leadership and communication skills within and outside of their work team, enabling individual and group development in healthcare organizations. Competencies to be developed in this area of performance: c) Lead work teams to facilitate the direction and coordination of collective actions that contribute to the success of processes related to the operation of healthcare organizations. d) Communicate the necessary information to your team for their proper performance in healthcare organizations, using appropriate and assertive language.
