goals
To train an advanced researcher specializing in engineering, who is capable of developing and transferring technological innovation to the productive and service sector, forming work teams for the generation of new knowledge, products, services, systems and processes that allow them to contribute at the national and international level, from engineering in one of the lines of development and research of the program.
Applicant Profile
The target audience for the Doctoral Program in Engineering consists of graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Sciences or related fields. Graduates with a Master's degree in Engineering Sciences from institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education or their equivalent abroad are also eligible.
Graduate profile
The PhD in Engineering, jointly trained at the Universities of La Frontera, Bío-Bío, and Talca, is a graduate who possesses, creates, and independently applies advanced engineering knowledge, responding to the challenges of global industry. They are competent to lead applied research teams in industrial, university, or Research, Development, and Innovation (R&D&I) settings. They also develop innovations in products, services, or production processes according to a sustainability approach, utilizing relevant technologies and innovation management processes, and are qualified to transfer and patent this knowledge.
