goals

To train high-level researchers capable of conducting original research independently in the field of historical science, and to qualify them to work in higher education. The program focuses on research into Chilean and Latin American history, and doctoral dissertations must reflect this specialization.

Applicant Profile

The applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree in history (or receive it during the 2021 academic year), humanities, social sciences, pedagogy in history or related disciplines, with an average equal to or higher than 5.0 and present all the background information required by the program.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Program are trained to conduct research that contributes to historical knowledge, and are qualified to work as academic teachers and professionals in higher education, scientific and heritage institutions.

Lines of investigation

The perspectives from which the History of Chile and the History of America are analyzed include: Political History, Economic History, Social History, Cultural History, History of Education, Transnational and Global History, History of the Church, and History of Science.
