The Doctoral Program in Sciences with a specialization in Microbiology has the fundamental objective of training researchers with a solid conceptual foundation in the discipline, capable of leading a scientific research group and of teaching at the highest level, so that they become effective promoters of the development of the discipline, both in its basic aspects and in its applications.
Applicant Profile
Those who hold a Bachelor's, Master's or Professional Title, whose level, content and duration of studies correspond to training equivalent to the Bachelor's degree at the University of Chile, granted by national or foreign Universities, which ensure satisfactory training for the purposes of the Program, may apply to the Doctoral Program in Sciences with a mention in Microbiology.

The graduate profile corresponds to a researcher prepared to address their work in the different areas of Microbiology, whether in basic aspects of the discipline such as Molecular Biology, Molecular Biology of Viruses and Environmental Microbiology, or in more applied aspects of that area such as Microbiology of Pathogenic Organisms and Industrial Processes that are based on the use of specific microorganisms.
