General Objective: To train advanced human capital capable of developing basic and/or translational research in the various areas of biomedical sciences, with emphasis on human diseases, contributing to the search, development and application of new knowledge that contributes to the health of the population.
Specific objectives: – To generate scientific knowledge in the area of biomedical sciences.
Develop critical thinking and scientific reasoning in the field of biomedicine.
Develop innovative and high-quality basic and/or translational research in the area of biomedical sciences.
To provide the skills to design and execute research projects in the field of biomedical sciences.

Applicant Profile
The DCBM is aimed at graduates or professionals in the area of health sciences, biological sciences, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related disciplines, who demonstrate an interest in developing research in the area of biomedical sciences, and who also demonstrate academic excellence during their undergraduate studies.
Applicants must demonstrate knowledge in biological sciences through an exam where they must also demonstrate the ability to understand and critically analyze an experimental scientific article in English related to the biomedical field.
Graduate profile
The graduate of the PhD in Biomedical Sciences will be an ethical and responsible researcher, with interdisciplinary expertise in biological and biomedical sciences, capable of:
-Apply critical thinking and scientific reasoning to formulate original hypotheses in the field of biomedicine.
-Design and execute research projects in the field of biomedical sciences that contribute to the health of the population and contribute to the knowledge of human diseases.
-Integrate national and international collaboration networks in order to contribute to the development of scientific knowledge in the area.
-Communicate their results, orally and in writing, at scientific meetings and in mainstream journals with the purpose of transferring knowledge to the community derived from their research advances.
