The launch of the seventh edition of the Congress of the Americas on International Education (CAEI): “Charting the Future: Strengthening the Global Knowledge Community,” is scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, at 1:00 p.m. (Chilean time), and will include a webinar. The CAIE 2021, which in this seventh version is hosted by Chile, will take place virtually between October 19 and 22, and has the support of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), among other organizations.
With a view to developing the Congress of the Americas on International Education (CAEI): "Tracing the future: Strengthening the global community of knowledge", a series of webinars will be held to initiate the debates and animate the conversations that will be discussed at the inter-American meeting. .
After today's webinar there will be another three to start the conversations that will be deepened in the meeting: on May 13, “The Future of Work: Perspectives for T&T Education”; on August 12, the theme "Networks of Knowledge: Facing common challenges" will continue; and on September 14 with the meeting "Chile 2021: Enhancing Collaboration".
The CAEI is a continental forum of excellence that brings together the main actors and decision-makers related to the internationalization of higher education in the Americas to strengthen contacts, exchange experiences, and chart the future of academic cooperation in the region. This instance is promoted by the Inter-American University Organization (OUI), of which several universities are part of the Council of Rectors and whose current president is the rector of the University of Los Lagos, Óscar Garrido.
It should be noted that CAEI is organized in alliance with national, regional and international higher education institutions and organizations, offering a platform from which emerging challenges and trends are made known, as well as good practices related to international education. Those wishing to participate in CAEI 2021 can choose from four registration options, detailed in this link.
This year the congress will address four sub-themes: "Research and Knowledge Networks: Empowering Development", "Transforming Teaching: Pedagogies for the Future", "International Education: Collaboration Platforms" and "Community Engagement: Facing Common Challenges".
The organizers invite researchers and academics to submit proposals that encourage reflection and dialogue in these areas, either by suggesting new initiatives or by establishing links with current issues, trends, problems and good practices.
