After the end of the year holidays, 295,935 people will take the University Selection Tests (PSU), within the framework of the 2020 Admission Process of the Single Admission System (SUA) of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH).

The executive vice president of CRUCH, Aldo Valle, highlighted that the surrender of the PSUs is “a civic act that fills us with pride, because it is a milestone that involves a nationwide deployment, in which several thousand students will participate simultaneously. , to carry out an impartial and transparent process that guarantees public faith in access to higher education ”.

In this context, on Thursday, January 2, 2020, the Department of Educational Evaluation, Measurement, and Registration (DEMRE) of the University of Chile will publish the locations where the PSU (University Selection Test) will be administered throughout the country. Room familiarization will take place at these same locations on Sunday, January 5, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Subsequently, and as announced in November, the Language and Communication PSU test will be administered on Monday, January 6, at 9:00 a.m., and the optional Science test will be administered starting at 2:30 p.m. The following day, Tuesday, January 7, the Mathematics PSU test will be administered at 9:00 a.m., and the optional History, Geography, and Social Sciences test will be administered at 2:30 p.m.

Rector Valle made a call to those who will apply to inform themselves in advance about the admission process. “It is important that the students can review in advance the official publications related to the process on the official sites of SUA and DEMRE; as well as to collect available information on the careers and universities of their choice on the same web pages and on the official channels of the 41 institutions that participate in the 2020 Admission Process ”, he stated.

Recommendations for rendering PSUs

Applicants must bring only their identification document, their identification card (downloadable from the Student Portal, https://psu.demre.cl/), a No. 2 graphite pencil or HB mechanical pencil, and an eraser. Optionally, they may also bring a highlighter and a water bottle.

It is recommended to print your identification card in advance and have your national identity card up-to-date and in good condition. If you lose your identification card on the days of the PSU exams, you should report the situation to the head of the testing center and request a free copy of the document.

It is important that they go to the recognition of rooms, in order to know the precise place where the PSU will be rendered and to calculate travel time and means of transport to get to the venue; along with clarifying any doubts or solving problems in front of the local manager.

The entry and use of cell phones, cameras, tablets, or other electronic devices is strictly prohibited, as well as the entry with bags, backpacks, wallets and any other item during the performance of the tests.

Application, selection and enrollment

Following the administration of the PSU (University Selection Test), results will be published on the Applicant Portal on Tuesday, January 28, at 8:00 a.m. That same day, starting at 9:00 a.m., the application period for programs offered by the 41 universities that comprise the SUA (University Admission System) will begin. This process will continue until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31.

The results of applications and student selection will be known on March 2, on the Applicant Portal and on the websites of the institutions attached to the SUA. Meanwhile, from March 3 to 5, the first stage of enrollment will take place and the second stage of enrollment will be between March 6 and 12; While the withdrawal period will run between March 3 and 12, 2020.
