This activity seeks to reflect on the processes of internationalization of Higher Education with a view to advancing the construction of a critical, proactive and projective vision on the internationalization of universities and other institutions linked to Higher Education.
The Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), through the Internationalization Commission, and in conjunction with the Directorate of Energy, Science and Technology of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, will hold the Seminar entitled "Internationalization of Higher Education" on October 13 and 14.
This international seminar aims to reflect on the internationalization processes of higher education in Chile, in order to advance the development of a critical, proactive, and forward-looking vision regarding the internationalization of universities and other institutions linked to higher education. The event is sponsored by the University of Chile and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and its program features the participation of international speakers from the United Kingdom, the United States, Mexico, and Brazil.
Themed Tables
The Seminar, which will take place on October 13 and 14 in the O'Higgins Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Santiago, will be structured around four thematic tables:
Concept of Internationalization: it seeks to understand internationalization beyond academic mobility, encompassing all dimensions, understanding the levels of internationalization "at home" and "outside" and the lines of development at each level.
Internationalization Models: where the aim is to account for different strategies and ways of promoting and advancing internationalization, highlighting the relevance of rankings, areas of higher education, shared quality frameworks and qualifications, among others;
Institutional Internationalization Practices: seeks to collect and recognize the relevance of university experiences or public policies promoting internationalization, their evaluation, their levels of success and their future projections and
Internationalization in Latin America: It aims to provide a Latin American perspective on internationalization processes, focusing on Chile's integration into the region, to identify initiatives, obstacles, opportunities, and possible scenarios.
The two-day event in the capital will begin with an opening ceremony led by Gabriel Rodríguez, Director of the Directorate of Energy, Science, Technology and Innovation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREL); the Minister of Education, Adriana Delpiano; and the Executive Vice President of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), Aldo Valle. Rector Claudio Elórtegui, President of the G9 Network, and Rector Ennio Vivaldi, President of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CUECH), will deliver the opening and closing remarks on the second day of the seminar, respectively.
