The call considers 25 new doctoral scholarships and 25 short postdoctoral stays among all candidates that the organizations, institutions and universities present according to the cooperation agreements signed bilaterally.

The deadline for submitting applications for doctoral scholarships and short research stays is Thursday, April 9, 2015.

The Council of Rectors announces that the Carolina Foundation has opened a new 2015-2016 Call for Scholarships, the details of which are provided below. These scholarships will be awarded to candidates nominated by the universities of the Council of Rectors.

In the area of doctoral scholarships and short-term postdoctoral fellowships, 25 new doctoral scholarships and 25 short-term postdoctoral fellowships are being offered to all candidates submitted by organizations, institutions, and universities, based on bilateral cooperation agreements. The deadline for submitting applications for doctoral scholarships and short-term research fellowships is Thursday, April 9, 2015.

The main features of the program are:

  • Candidates for doctoral scholarships must hold a master's degree that grants them access to doctoral studies in the country where that degree was issued.
  • The doctoral scholarship lasts for 21 months spread over 3 years.
  • Candidates for doctoral scholarships and short-term postdoctoral fellowships will have to choose one of the forty-eight Spanish universities that, to date, have signed an agreement with the Carolina Foundation as their host institution. A list of these universities is attached; in sixteen cases, the terms of the agreement are improved with regard to the monthly contribution to the doctoral fellow, as the Spanish university participates in co-financing the stay with €400 per month, including accommodation in a university residence. This improved distribution of the €1,200 monthly stipend does NOT apply to short-term fellowships.
  • The doctoral candidate can apply to any doctorate at those universities, with the exception of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, centers in which those doctorates are limited (in the case of the UAB, see attached file).
