At the University of Talca, with the presence of President Michelle Bachelet and the rectors of five universities from the Council of Rectors, the collaboration agreement was signed so that the institutions can create the same number of Technical Training Centers.
In Talca, an agreement was signed for five universities belonging to the Council of Rectors (CRUCH) to launch a project to create state-run Technical Training Centers. The event was led by President Michelle Bachelet, who signed the agreements with the rectors of the universities of Antofagasta, Luis Loyola; La Serena, Nibaldo Avilés; Playa Ancha, Patricio Sanhueza; Talca, Álvaro Rojas; and Magallanes, Víctor Fajardo.
Also present at the ceremony were the Undersecretary of Education, Valentina Quiroga, and the mayor of Maule, Hugo Veloso, among other authorities.
The President described that these five technical training centers will be joined by others -in stages- in each of the regions, as well as the creation of a Technical and Professional Training Council in each region (of public-private composition), to coordinate this type of teaching at all levels of education.
The idea, the President added, is that these CFTs should be related to the productive vocations and employment potential in each territory, linked to the regional strategy and programs of Corfo, the Ministry of Labor and the National Innovation Council for Competitiveness.
Thus, the aforementioned state universities will design and create the academic program guidelines for each CFT, which should be ready by the end of this year.
