The objective of the visit was to give participants the opportunity to form an opinion on the development of policies and programs in science and technology, thus allowing for closer ties between Chile and Germany.

The executive director of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), María Teresa Marshall, received an official invitation from the German Federal Foreign Office called Gästeprogramm for Science and Technology, a visit that took place in June in Berlin and Lower Saxony.

The invited group from Chile consisted of two parliamentarians, Antonieta Saa and Alberto Robles, the president of the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT), José Miguel Aguilera, the director of innovation of the Production Development Corporation (CORFO), Conrad von Igel and the executive director of CRUCH, María Teresa Marshall.

The program of visits and meetings included authorities from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, Parliament and DFG – DAAD; centers of excellence in the field of research and innovation and universities.
