The professional will establish the institutional framework that will take charge of the Admission System starting with the 2013-2014 process.

Among their immediate tasks are defining professional profiles for the proposed positions and working on the formation of the national and international panels.

The board of directors of the Unified University Admission System of the Council of Rectors appointed María Elena González Plitt as executive director of this new institution. She will organize the tasks necessary to establish this institution, which will be in charge of the 2013-2014 admissions process.

Among the immediate tasks are defining the professional profiles for the search for the positions necessary for the operation of this institution.

In addition, it will focus on working on the statutes of the new institution, the formation of the national and international panels, and establishing communication channels with the institutions that currently manage the admissions process.

“Our main task will be the continuous evaluation of the system, starting from the Pearson report. We aspire to further strengthen our admissions system to make it a world-class mechanism,” González said.

María Elena González is a psychologist and holds a doctorate in Educational Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She has worked as an academic and held administrative positions at the University of La Frontera and the University of Tarapacá. She was also a member of the National Accreditation Commission. Her research has focused on educational and social psychology, particularly the study of psychological variables and their relationship to educational processes.
