XXIV Legal Conference on Higher Education

The activity was inaugurated by Misael Camus Ibacache, rector of the Catholic University of the North and president of the AUR; and by Rodolfo Walter, Secretary General of the University of Concepción and president of the Legal Commission of the Council of Rectors.

The XXIV Legal Conference on Higher Education was held on the 10th and 11th at the facilities of the Catholic University of the North, in the city of Antofagasta.

This activity brings together annually the legal advisors, general secretaries and comptrollers of the universities of the Council of Rectors, which on this occasion had the support of the Association of Regional Universities and the sponsorship of CRUCH.

The conference was opened by Misael Camus Ibacache, rector of the Catholic University of the North and president of the Association of Regional Universities (AUR); and by Rodolfo Walter, general secretary of the University of Concepción and president of the Legal Commission of the Council of Rectors.

Among the agreements adopted is the formation of commissions to address five issues: a) Legislative Agenda for Higher Education (Superintendence, Financing and Quality Assurance); b) Student Participation; c) Intellectual Property Policies and Technology Transfer; d) Risk Management; e) Public Procurement System, SERNAC in connection with university activity.

The 2013 Legal Commission was also formed, which was made up of Mr. Cristian Moyano from the University of Valparaíso; Mr. Carlos Maturana from the University of Bío-Bío; Mr. Fernando Castillo from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso; Mr. Jeromme Mac Auliffe from the Federico Santa María Technical University; Mr. Javier Millar from the Austral University of Chile; Mr. Andrés Prieto del Rio from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and Mr. Rodolfo Walter from the University of Concepción (Coordinator).

It was agreed that the next Higher Education Law Days will be held at the Austral University of Chile on January 6 and 7, 2014.
