The University Selection Test will be administered on December 12th and 13th. The date was changed, among other reasons, to ensure that all testing centers would be available.

An extraordinary registration period from October 11 to 21 was also announced.

In an extraordinary plenary session of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), held today at the main building of the Catholic University, the highest university authorities decided to postpone the date of the University Selection Tests (PSU) to December 11, 12 and 13, 2011.

According to Rector Víctor Pérez, executive vice president of the Council of Rectors, this change was defined based on the following elements: the number of students enrolled, and the testing centers enabled.
Regarding the first point, the rector specified that according to the records of the Department of Educational Evaluation, Measurement and Registration (DEMRE) of the University of Chile, and in comparison with the previous year, 90% of the students have registered to date; a figure that would increase with the extraordinary registration period that will extend from the 11th to the 21st of this month.
“As in previous years, DEMRE has opened a new period for taking the PSU exam, so we urge young people who want to take this test and have not yet registered to do so during this new period,” said Rector Pérez.
Likewise, the executive vice president of CRUCH recalled that the date was postponed to ensure that all the necessary centers are available so that the conditions for taking the exam are optimal for the young people facing this important stage.
“According to DEMRE figures, approximately one third of the test locations were not available for November 27, 28 and 29, but these centers would be available for the new date set.”.
