This meeting is part of a series of meetings that the Council of Rectors will hold with all public sectors.
The four presidents of the Concertación parties met this Tuesday, July 26, with the executive committee of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities, to review the issues that are priorities in an education reform.
This meeting is part of a series of meetings that CRUCH will hold with all political sectors to keep the issue of education "as the main point of debate at this time in Chile, so that importance is given to this citizen movement, in order to ensure clear commitments from all areas for a better education for all Chileans," as explained by Rector Víctor Pérez, Executive Vice President of the Council, at the end of the meeting.
“We, as the Council of Rectors, believe that education is a public good that must be of high quality and equitable, and we have proposed to the presidents of the Concertación the same thing that we are going to present to the other political parties,” he emphasized.
For his part, the spokesperson for the Concertación, the DC leader Ignacio Walker, described the meeting as "a very substantive and quite convergent exchange of opinions.".
