About recognition

The Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) celebrates its 70th anniversary on August 14th. These 70 years represent an unwavering commitment to the public good and significant contributions to the development and strengthening of higher education in Chile.

Currently, the Council is made up of the rectors of the 30 most prestigious and established universities in the country, representing the most diverse intellectual and cultural traditions, and which contribute substantially to the territorial development of the regions, from Arica and Parinacota to Magallanes.

As a way to honor the legacy of the Council since its creation in 1954, the plenary of rectors agreed to establish the “CRUCH Recognition for the contribution to Higher Education”.

Application requirements

  • Application form, as per Annex 1. Download HERE
  • Sworn Statement, according to Annex 2. Download HERE
  • Cover letter addressed to the Council of Rectors of the
    Chilean Universities. The candidate may be nominated by a
    natural person, an organization or institution, or self-nominate.
  • Extensive Curriculum Vitae (CVE)
  • Executive summary of the CVE.
  • At least 2 letters of support and sponsorship for the candidate.
  • Check all the requirements in the ""Terms and Conditions of the Call for Proposals".

Selection criteria

  • Originality and innovation of contributions to the Higher Education System.
  • Impact on the Chilean Higher Education System.
  • Applicant's background.
  • Applicant leadership.

Award ceremony

The presentation of the “CRUCH Recognition for Contribution to Higher Education” will take place within the framework of the Solemn Session of the CRUCH 70th Anniversary, in August of this year.
