goals

The objective of the Program is to train specialists in electrical engineering, in the areas of telecommunications systems, automatic control systems, and electrical power systems, enabling graduates to participate in research activities and highly complex engineering projects (Annex 2).

Specific objectives of the Program include contributing to:

a) Provide research tools to participate in project development teams, whether for current problems, or for new perspectives associated with the different areas of the Program.
b) To provide application tools and techniques specific to the discipline to formulate solutions to highly complex electrical engineering problems that contribute to strengthening the discipline.
c) To promote, orally and in writing, the dissemination of knowledge generated in research activities, through national and international scientific media.

Applicant Profile

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree and/or Professional Title in Electrical Engineering, with a program duration of at least eight semesters. Applications may be submitted throughout the academic year, although the admissions process will be conducted within the deadlines established by the Vice-Rector's Office for Postgraduate Studies. To apply, interested parties must attach the following documentation (Annex No. 2):

a) Updated Curriculum Vitae.
b) Certificates of academic degrees and titles obtained.
c) Summary of undergraduate grades, including ranking, course repetitions, and periods in which the courses were taken. The grading scale and the minimum passing grade must be indicated.
d) Birth certificate.
e) Letter of institutional sponsorship, if any.

In addition to the above, applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from professors or professionals attesting to their suitability and qualifications for the program. These letters of recommendation must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Program Secretariat or through another method determined by the CPM. The Program Secretariat will provide a form for the recommenders to complete.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Master of Science in Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Engineering will be able to:

a) Develop a comprehensive and systematic understanding of current problems, and/or new perspectives associated with one of the following areas: telecommunications systems, automatic control systems, or electrical power systems.
b) Formulate solutions to highly complex electrical engineering or research problems, applying disciplinary knowledge in an original way, and rigorously using engineering research techniques.
c) Disseminate orally and in writing the knowledge generated in research activities through specialized journals, dissemination articles, reports, among others
