Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master's Program in Coexistence and Citizenship for Educational Institutions are characterized by:
– To understand the theoretical and management perspectives of coexistence and citizenship.
– Identify the possibilities for training and management in the processes of social coexistence in educational institutions.
– To know and apply appropriately the current training methodologies for coexistence and citizenship.
– To design, propose, implement and evaluate innovative intervention strategies in coexistence and citizenship.
– To promote civic education processes in educational learning contexts in educational institutions.
The professional field for graduates of this program comprises educational institutions, both schools and higher education institutions, that are interested in implementing programs focused on fostering positive relationships and citizenship, as well as violence prevention interventions. Public and private schools represent a particularly important area, given the legal requirements (Law on School Violence No. 20.536, 2011) to designate those responsible for school coexistence and establish prevention and response protocols. The inclusion of other educational indicators in the SIMCE (National System for Measuring the Quality of Education) also necessitates investment in trained professionals to manage coexistence and citizenship education in schools. Higher education institutions, for their part, will benefit from having trained professionals to lead programs that strengthen positive relationships within the institution.
