goals
General objective
To train graduates with solid knowledge that contributes to the development of the Nursing discipline, based on its philosophical, theoretical, ethical and scientific foundations, with the skills to integrate research teams, generate projects in their field of action and communicate the results.
Specific objectives
– To delve deeper into Nursing as a discipline, promoting the critical analysis of phenomena related to health care from different philosophical, theoretical, ethical and scientific perspectives.
– To develop research and generate scientific evidence in the disciplinary field respecting ethical principles and values.
– To prepare graduates with skills for the critical analysis of scientific evidence for the benefit of people's health.
– To prepare graduates with the skills to disseminate research results and findings in different contexts.
– To promote the integration of program graduates into health research teams.
Applicant Profile
Possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Obstetrics, or professional title of Nurse or Nurse Midwife; have interests and motivation for nursing research and social responsibility; have the ability to organize their time to respond to the academic requirements of the program within the established timeframes; have the ability to read and understand scientific articles in English.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master's Program in Nursing at the University of Concepción will be able to identify phenomena and address problems in their disciplinary and professional field, developing research individually or as part of work teams, within an ethical and value-based framework, thus contributing to the health of people.
Lines of investigation
This research line addresses the processes, practices, and perspectives of nursing care in health promotion, prevention, and recovery to maintain and/or improve quality of life in different groups, namely: healthy individuals, individuals with chronic conditions, and workers in their work environment. It comprises a set of research projects that seek to understand a common problem from diverse theoretical and methodological approaches and with varying scopes, which will guide and drive this research practice. The Master's Program policy has been to strengthen disciplinary and research analysis and reinforce the qualitative approach in student training.
