goals
To provide students with advanced disciplinary training and professional development through research and study of contemporary design methodologies, as well as design theory and critique. Recognizing the particularity and diversity of Latin American living, the program aims to promote an emancipatory and sustainable vision of Latin American architectural identity, acknowledging otherness, inequality, and the emerging as the vocation and heritage for building the new. It also seeks to achieve a poetic and ethical understanding of the sensory and material aspects of the Latin American continent, particularly through design methods relevant to the scale of the place, the territory, and the socio-cultural context.
Applicant Profile
Graduates in architecture or architects (or similar titles as determined by the Academic Committee).
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Latin American Master's Program in Architecture will be able to reflectively apply design methods from a broad perspective, integrating a critical evaluation of the environmental, spatial, social, and cultural conditions of the territory from a Latin American perspective. They will possess the knowledge and skills to propose innovative methods for recording and gathering information, as well as the tools to promote the planning, design, production, and execution of projects in Latin America, from a perspective that incorporates the global and its local connections, through the critical interpretation of acquired knowledge about aspects of culture and environmental conditions in the Latin American context.
