goals
To develop advanced human capital, individuals with comprehension and research skills who can contribute to the theoretical and practical analysis of current and emerging territorial problems. Therefore, the Master's Program in Social Sciences with a specialization in Territorial Studies focuses on the study of transformations, tensions, and problems in regional societies from the perspective of the relationship between actors, their sociopolitical, socioeconomic, and socio-environmental phenomena and processes, within the framework of territorial sustainability.

Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master's in Social Sciences in Territorial Studies will be researchers with basic and applied research capabilities for the theoretical and empirical approach to current and emerging problems in order to participate and contribute to the co-construction of the development processes of the territories.
Graduates of the program are characterized by identifying, managing, and applying a set of theoretical-methodological approaches that will allow them to understand socio-political, economic, and environmental problems, transformations, and manifestations of the territories.
Graduates of the program will have the skills to integrate into interdisciplinary research teams focused on territorial development processes that guide and positively impact both public and private decision-making.
Lines of investigation
1) Territorial Governance is understood as a meeting space between the different actors involved and their socio-political dynamics of management, regulation and power, which has as its purpose the search for democracy.
2) Regional Economy is understood as an eminently social space and its socio-productive dynamics of appropriation, transformation, and circulation, which aim to achieve human well-being. The study of territorial governance and the regional economy, as a whole, contributes to the co-construction of sustainable territories.
Additionally, Research Methodology is taught as a cross-curricular axis that links theoretical learning with territorial problems, with emphasis on the development of thesis work leading to the degree.
