goals
General objective
To provide students with theoretical and methodological tools that allow them to practice the design and management of urban initiatives and projects, strengthening professional capacities in interdisciplinary teams that address contemporary transformation processes from a sustainable territorial development approach.
Specific objectives
Identify complex urban problems with local expression, as a basis for acquired urban intervention.
– To understand the interrelationships between urban project design and city management, in order to develop comprehensive interventions in the current reality.
– Develop urban initiatives and projects, integrating strategies from design and management to promote sustainable processes in the areas of urban growth, heritage, mobility, urban landscape, among others.
– Evaluate the urban, social, environmental, cultural and economic impacts of sustainable urban initiatives and projects.

Graduates of this program are professionals who have acquired and/or deepened their knowledge of current urban phenomena—from accurately identifying problems to incorporating multi-scalar perspectives—and applying this knowledge to a wide range of urban development areas. They possess a set of practical, design, and management tools for decision-making regarding the approach to and resolution of identified problems. They are also professionals who have developed the capacity to intervene in complex urban contexts, linking elements of theoretical analysis with practical application strategies, and recognizing and valuing collaborative intervention among a broad range of local stakeholders.
