In this way, students will acquire advanced legal knowledge and skills that will be useful in their professional careers. The specific objectives of the program are as follows: 1) To train highly qualified professionals capable of addressing and resolving advanced legal problems and issues; 2) To promote the advanced study of specific areas of law through a process of systematization and coordination; 3) To contribute to the advancement of knowledge in general and to critical reflection in the area of law in particular, thus fulfilling the fundamental purpose of any university.<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"postulante\">\n<h6>Applicant Profile<\/h6>\n<p>Individuals holding a bachelor&#039;s degree from a Chilean or foreign university or a Supreme Court of Lawyer certification. If the degree is from a foreign university, it must be duly legalized by the Chilean Consulate in the country of origin.<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"postulante\">\n<h6>Graduate profile<\/h6>\n<p>The UC LLM program is professional in nature and aims to train specialists in the legal field, capable of performing effectively in the current practice of law. Graduates of our Master&#039;s program possess up-to-date knowledge of current law, as well as the problems and controversies arising from its application. They are able to critically analyze legal institutions and address and\/or prevent complex problems, proposing and arguing coherent, plausible solutions consistent with professional ethics. Graduates of the UC LLM program have the following competencies: They know, understand, and appropriately apply the current legal regulations governing various legal institutions. They identify and understand the problems and controversies arising from the application of law, as well as the main doctrinal and jurisprudential trends. They are able to anticipate potential conflicts, deploying leadership and negotiation strategies to reach alternatives to litigation. They are able to critically analyze legal institutions, formulating an opinion or value judgment grounded in law. They are capable of resolving complex legal problems, proposing coherent and plausible solutions that are consistent with professional ethics, and evaluating the effects of their chosen approach.
