This specialization will enable them to investigate etiological, preventive, diagnostic, or therapeutic aspects of chronic non-communicable diseases in multidisciplinary teams, or to pursue further academic training in a national or international doctoral program. The graduate&#039;s performance will be characterized by a continuous search for solutions to emerging health challenges, with the ultimate goal of contributing to improved healthcare and respect for human dignity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"investigacion\">\n<h6>Lines of investigation<\/h6>\n<p> Molecular genetics research line: studies the molecular basis of diseases such as colon cancer, diabetes, and obesity, investigating alterations in the structure, function, and expression of genes underlying these pathologies. Specifically, this research line focuses on the study of gene regulation at the level of genetic variations such as single nucleotide polymorphisms, at the level of transcriptional control through epigenetic mechanisms dependent on chromatin structure, and at the level of functional regulation of transport proteins and enzymes related to oxidative stress and intermediary metabolism. Neuroscience research line: studies biomedical questions related to the structure and function of the nervous system, along with the complex cellular and molecular interactions that occur during its development and interaction with the immune system. The nervous system is responsible for coordinating the flow of autonomic, sensory, and motor information in our body.
