(http:\/\/www.veterinaria.uach.cl\/escuela\/graduados\/contacto.php)<br \/>\nApplicants must meet the requirements established in the UACh Master&#039;s Program Regulations. These regulations require a Bachelor&#039;s degree in Veterinary Medicine or a professional title as a Veterinarian. Additionally, applicants must fulfill the requirements determined by the Postgraduate Studies Office and the Graduate School of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. Foreign applicants must demonstrate proficiency in Spanish; Spanish-speaking applicants must demonstrate a basic level of English, which is assessed by the UACh Language Institute. Finally, applicants must demonstrate full-time availability.<br \/>\nThe academic credentials of applicants who have completed courses abroad must be legalized. The Graduate School determines the equivalency of degrees awarded abroad, forwarding the relevant documentation to the Postgraduate Directorate when the law does not provide for it.<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"postulante\">\n<h6>Graduate profile<\/h6>\n<p>The MSA graduate is trained to identify, analyze and solve problems in animal (or public) health, at the individual or population level, being able to address basic or applied challenges in the areas of microbiology and population health, or biomedicine and clinical sciences.<br \/>\nGraduates are expected to work in universities and research centers, as well as in the health\/safety departments of agricultural or aquaculture companies, and in national (e.g., SAG, ACHIPIA, SERNAPESCA, CONAF, Health Authority, or similar) or foreign government agencies (official veterinary services or health services). Additionally, they may work in national or international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) related to animal health, as well as international organizations (e.g., FAO, OIE, WHO, or others), or in private practice.<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"investigacion\">\n<h6>Lines of investigation<\/h6>\n<p>1) Microbiology and Population Health<br \/>\nThis line of research seeks to combine methods of molecular biology and classical microbiology, with elements of epidemiology, statistical analysis and bioinformatics, in order to develop studies on relevant pathogens, at the population level, to promote animal and public health, as well as the conservation of wild species, and sustainable animal production, using the &quot;One Health&quot; approach.<br \/>\nStudents who develop their studies within this line of research will receive the necessary tools to diagnose and characterize pathogens, as well as to be able to identify and evaluate the impact of disease outbreaks, being able to design, propose and communicate disease prevention or control programs.<br \/>\n2) Biomedicine and Clinical Sciences<br \/>\nThis line of research seeks to address relevant areas of veterinary science, both basic and applied, related to animal health aspects such as development, morphology, and physiology, as well as those associated with their interaction with pathological processes related to metabolic, inflammatory, and infectious disorders, among others, and their therapeutics. Specifically, this line aims to study, through approaches from molecular biology, cellular physiology, and systems theory, the main mechanisms associated with animal health and disease states, as well as the potential search for therapeutic alternatives.<br \/>\nStudents pursuing research in this area will receive methodological tools that enable them to critically analyze the literature in various related fields, as well as propose approaches to addressing these problems and their potential solutions. Given the continuous and increasing specialization within Veterinary Sciences, this research area aims to contribute to the training of competent graduates with a broad understanding of individual health issues, from molecular aspects to the interaction between different systems.
