This process, carried out by the Program committee, consists of<br \/>\nanalyze and qualify the background information requested for the application.<br \/>\nThe candidate pre-selection is based on an Entrance Evaluation Guide that considers<br \/>\nthe following criteria and weightings:<br \/>\nAcademic Background (40%)<br \/>\nWork experience and other extracurricular activities (25%)<br \/>\nReasons for taking the program (25%)<br \/>\nLetters of recommendation (10%)<br \/>\n3) Personal interview of the shortlisted candidates conducted by the Program Committee. This interview has<br \/>\nThe objective is for the Committee to become familiar with the applicants&#039; areas of development and their proposed problem statement.<br \/>\nof research within the thesis. <\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"postulante\">\n<h6>Graduate profile<\/h6>\n<p>The graduate will be able to:<br \/>\nI) To understand the development achieved by the interdisciplinary relationship between History and the Social Sciences in recent decades, in terms of theoretical approaches, perspectives, methodologies, and predominant themes, as well as to understand the disciplinary work in a critical and reflective way. In particular, to be familiar with the main historiographical and current social science debates, recognizing authors, schools, and trends.<br \/>\nII) Develop original and autonomous research in Contemporary History, following the validated stages in the respective line of research, from the definition of a problem, through bibliographic review, information gathering, analysis and synthesis, to the writing and publication of results.<br \/>\nIII) To relate historiographical and social science knowledge in order to achieve an interdisciplinary study of topics relevant to the present day in\/from southern Chile.
